Q: How do I become a retailer of CJ's products?
A: We require proof of a storefront through a live and up-to-date URL and/or proof of your brick and mortar (a picture of the outside and inside merchandising of your store will suffice). We'll also need your tax id number and/or seller's permit for our records before we're able to disclose our wholesale information. Please create an account on this website and then contact us through the website with your information and we'll notify you when your account is upgraded to a wholesale account. This process shouldn't take more than 1 business day.
Q: Why does CJ's BUTTer say that it contains nuts?
A: While coconut is in the palm family it has been determined to be a tree nut by the FDA for purposes of labeling. Shea Butter is a vegetable fat yielded from the Shea nut. Shea Butter is also considered a nut for labeling purposes.
Q: Why does CJ's BUTTer say that is contains soy?
A: The Tocopherol (Vitamin E) used in our products is derived from soy.
Q: Does CJ's BUTTer contain gluten?
A: No. CJ's BUTTer products are all gluten free. The colloidal oatmeal used in several of our products is certified gluten free.
Q: Does CJ's BUTTer contain any parabens or phthalates?
A: No. We have been very careful to insure that all of our fragrance oils are free from both parabens and phthalates.
Q: I just received my CJ’s Original BUTTer®. It seems kind of separated and grainy, unlike others I’ve received. What’s wrong and can I fix it?
A: There is nothing wrong with your BUTTer. Since we don’t add any kind of stabilizer to our formulation and all the products are all natural, BUTTer will sometimes need a little more TLC than we are accustomed to in commercial products or those with all the ingredients you can’t pronounce! Shea butter will sometimes become grainy due to the heat during transit in the summer or because of temperature fluctuations. It’s not a problem, unless you don’t like it.
If you’d prefer your BUTTer to be creamy, please follow these instructions.

Fragrance or essential oils are only added if you choose to have our products scented (those listed under All Natural scents are essential oils, the others are fragrance oils. Q: Is CJ’s BUTTer completely cloth diaper-safe? Even when used with synthetic fibers? Do I need to use a liner?
A: Yes!! CJ’s BUTTer is completely cloth diaper safe. No liner needed. It will not cause repelling OR staining and washes out easily with hot water and detergent/soap. There is only a very small amount of lanolin in the formula and it melts away easily in the wash.
Q: My child (or dog) just ate some CJ’s BUTTer. Should I be concerned?
A: CJ’s BUTTer® is edible (although I don’t think it tastes particularly delicious) and is made with food grade ingredients. If a large amount is ingested, you may notice a slight laxative effect when it reaches the large intestine, but unless your child (or dog) is allergic to one of the ingredients, you shouldn't notice any adverse reactions. If you’re still concerned, please call poison control. (This is what we were told when we called.)
Q: Can I use CJ’s BUTTer as a nipple cream while breastfeeding?
A: Yes. CJ’s BUTTer is edible.
Q: How can CJ's BUTTer® PLUS be used to help with cradle cap?

A: We do not allow co-ops.
